Being Jane

Question: My question is two fold (yes, I am greedy for this opportunity)
1. What are the 3 main ways someone can feel/seem young as they age?
2. What did you wish you knew at 47 years old that you now know? (my age, of course)
Thank you for time and talent!
From: Debra Oliver

Answer: Feel young and you will seem young. So much comes from the inside out but staying healthy and fit is critical too. I found that the forties were the toughest for me. It got easier later on, after 60. It just can get better and better if you develop an inner life, good friends who accept you but also challenge you to grow and deepen.

  1. What’s your favorite movie? Book? Yoga position? What would be your last meal?

You have many admirers for many reasons. I’m one, too.

  2. Yeah this mid second act stuff isn’t easy.
I’m forty-three this is not for um…sissies. But would I go back to my twenties? No way, no how!

  3. You ask, what are the 3 main ways someone can feel/seem young as they age?

    Consider this:

  4. Great advice about feeling young inside. However, I am a man in my late 30s and I cannot, just cannot, accept that you say your 40s were difficult for you. That’s exactly the time I got into you. You were doing the Workout, you were fantastic in On Golden Pond- not only acting wise, but also physically. My God that scene on the jetty (that’s the British English word – don’t know if you say that in the US). What a six-pack! And I was this teenager in the UK just absolutely madly in love with you! You were the only over 40year-old that this teenager was in love with…! So how can you say your 40s were difficult? If I can be half as good as you, then I’m really looking forward to my forties ….
