A student who came to a rabbi

An old story about a student who came to a rabbi and said, “In the olden days, there were men who saw the face of God. Why don’t they any more?” The rabbi replied, “Because nowadays no one can stoop so low.” One must stoop a little in order to fetch water from the stream.

A great lesson, although the notion of God’s “face” per se may perhaps be somewhat facetious – albeit, our ability to divine the Divine may indeed be a matter of Providential Accommodation. i.e., evolving human capacity to comprehend our Creator – the Rabbi wisely advises that, made in God’s Image, each of us bears a share of Divinity that can truly only be accessed by “stooping,” or rather, reducing his or her vaunted sense of self until one finally dissolves the human ego to become one with the irreducible eternal omnipresent consciousness that is God.

Thank you for sharing this great gem of wisdom.

P.S. Saw a little humor here too.
Thinking its hard to find ones reflection using a
    water faucet.
Being in nature one can’t forget their connection with the Oneness of All.
I am thankful for the water from this faucet and will work to conserve this gift that keeps me and our Earth in her wellness.

  5. Nice Jane , there is also The Wisdom of Confucius
The Master said: “Of a gentleman who is frivolous none stand in awe, nor can his learning be sound. Make faithfulness and truth thy masters: have no friends unlike thyself: be not ashamed to mend thy faults.”
Tzu-chang asked Confucius, What is love?
“Love,” said Confucius, “is to mete out five things to all below heaven.”
“May I ask what they are?”
“Modesty and bounty,” said Confucius, “truth, earnestness, and kindness. Modesty escapes insult; bounty wins the many; truth gains men’s trust; earnestness brings success’ kindness is the key to man’s work.” Kindness is the keys to life that people have not leaned in the day to day view and outlooks on others, maybe that is tha basic concept to rule ones life to be kind , some never learn or understand what that overview and ruling truth in ones life.
