Another great documentary about New Orleans is called Left Behind: The Story of the New Orleans Public Schools. It talks a lot about how Katrina devastated the New Orleans Publ. Sch. system even more.

"I maybe wrong but..." It is nominated for the documentary Oscar, but how delightful to hear you've not been sucked into all that hubbub. (On the other hand, you should have your ballot by now.)
The blog is awesome, and I cannot wait to see the show May 1!

I just wanted to share with you something that came up in my class entitled Literature of Exile and Migration today. The class discussion turned to issues of class. You came up (OK by me), as an example of someone who is thought of as traditionally privileged due to your lineage and class. In a room full of students who may only have, perhaps, Georgia Rule or Monster-In-Law as context, it was interesting to enlighten the youth in class that there is so very much more to your story. I mentioned your philanthropy, FTA, the work you did with Harvey against Briggs as well as No Nukes and G-CAPP (to name a few).
It was a very interesting discussion and I believe many in the class were enlightened not just by your own history but that "class" need not disable activism and ownership of one's citizenship in world at large.
You are a class act and this country and planet are fortunate to have you among us. I am so looking forward to coming to the play.

All my very best, break a leg!
