POWER OF WOMEN

On October 10th I was one of the Lifetime Impact Honorees at the 6th annual Variety’s Power of Women luncheon.

In a partnership with Lifetime, Variety established the award in order to honor Women in Entertainment who have a significant philanthropic impact. Imagine how excited I was to receive this award alongside, Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Viola Davis, and Universal’s Donna Langley.…

A HOLLYWOOD WEEKEND

Posted on January 15, 2013, in My Blog, with 18 Comments

I should have taken pictures but it felt inappropriate. So I’ll just have to use my words to tell you about the parties we went to this weekend. They were really fun. At the CAA party on Friday I hugged and congratulated Anne Hathaway who recently did a magnificent job emceeing the Women’s Media Center gala in NY and wowed everyone with her intelligence.…

THE LAST FEW DAYS

Posted on June 9, 2011, in My Blog, Relationships & Spirit, with 16 Comments

I feel badly because I have not done my blog in what feels like eons. So much has been going on and, for most of it, I have been sick.

I flew back from Cannes to Atlanta. A very nice couple is renting my gorgeous loft and so I stayed in a hotel. That is so weird: being in a hotel in a city that was your home for almost 20 years.…

PRE-OSCAR PARTY AT CHATEAU MARMONT

Posted on February 8, 2011, in Film, Television & Theater, My Blog, with 43 Comments

Last night Richard and I went to a party co-hosted by Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger. Lots of friends were there, including my brother, and it was fun. I just couldn’t take pictures of everyone…Geoffrey Rush, Eddie Olmos, Bobby Carradine (was in “Coming Home” with me), Renee Zellweger, Geena Davis, and a host of others. I walked up to Mick Jagger and reminded him that the last time we saw each other was in the house outside Rome on the Appia Antica, that my then husband, French director, Roger Vadim and I lived in during the filming of “Barbarella.” Mick and Keith Richards were around because Keith’s girlfriend, Anita Pallenberg, played the Black Queen, in Barbarella.…

END OF THIRD WEEK

Yesterday a group of the Center Theatre folk came and watched a run-through in the rehearsal room. Michael Ritchie, artistic director of the Center Theatre Group was there and had some very nice and generous comments to make. Whew!

I have been finding it hard to keep the lines in my head. I’m not just talking about dialogue changes but the lines I said two years ago for 5 months.…

AN INTERESTING EVENING AND AFTERNOON

Posted on October 24, 2010, in My Appearances, My Blog, with 27 Comments

Last night we got all glammed up and went to the Carousel of Hope Ball, a star-studded event that benefits the cause of curing Juvenile Diabetes. Marvin and Barbara Davis began this charity many decades ago and the indefatigable Barbara has continued it since Marvin’s passing. One year it takes place in L.A. and the following year in Denver, where the Davis’s were from.…

VANITY FAIR PARTY

Posted on March 9, 2010, in My Blog, with 45 Comments

After the Vanity Fair dinner, we moved into the area where the party was to start once the people who had been at the Oscars (including the winners) began to arrive. There were a few friends who were fun to talk with—George Hamilton, George Schaefer who produced “Laugh-In” back in the day, Roger Freidman. Then the place really filled up and I got to see Kathryn Bigelow.…
