A V-DAY WEEKEND: WHEN WOMEN HAVE YOUR BACK

Posted on June 30, 2012, in My Blog, with 12 Comments

I flew up to Berkeley Saturday knowing it would be an intense, inspiring, emotional weekend and I wasn’t disappointed. Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues” (among many other pieces) and life-long activist, has gathered a board of directors that is off the charts in generosity, fierceness and fun.

Washington, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Buffett, Thandie Newton, and Cari Ross.
We were not only In Berkeley for a board meeting, but on Sunday, we were going to see Eve’s new play, “Emotional Creature.” More about this in a moment.…

CHICAGO – MY KIND OF TOWN Part 2

Posted on June 21, 2012, in My Blog, with 12 Comments

We were driven along the Lake Shore to the South Side of Chicago where we spent the next day (6 hours!) at the amazing Museum of Science and Industry.

I have to say, it is the best one I have ever visited, full of fabulous displays, interactive experiences and beautifully curated. It is a must see. The museum building has a rich history dating back to 1893 when it was built for the Chicago Worlds Fair.…

Best week ever! Met my Grandkids in Chicago with much excitement. We all sensed we were going to be in for a special 5 days with Troy and Simone (my son and daughter-in-law). We weren’t disappointed. We did a lot and took lots of pictures so this blog will be a 2-parter.

We stayed at the incredible Park Hyatt Hotel right across the street from The Water Tower.…

WORKING HARD FOR “PEACE, LOVE & MISUNDERSTANDING”

Posted on June 10, 2012, in My Blog, with 10 Comments

Like for my first film, “Tall Story,” I went on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, did a ribbon cutting at the opening of an orphanage in Denver, rode in a Police Gazette parade somewhere in the mid-west…that sort of thing.…

The film was written and is being directed by David Posamentier and Geoff Moore. It's a terrific, wild, dark comedy and, from word of mouth, it's going to be really good. My role is definately unusual, but I'll keep that a secret.

Made it home from Cannes hopeful that the Lakers would turn around their series with Oklahoma but their post season ended last night.

I had a great time at Cannes this year. Those of you who followed my Twitter and Facebook accounts were able to see my behind-the-scenes and red carpet photos. I can’t tell you how much fun it is for me to be able to share these unique, bird’s eye view moments, and how moved I am always to read your comments.…
