What is wrong with Hollywood? Don’t we exist?
Did an interview not long ago with Marisa Berenson who said if she didn’t live in France she would never have the work she does here. Catherine Deneuve has a new film out this week, Charlotte Rampling works all the time and the French cannot get enough of Jane Birkin. I could go on.
What a shame, what a waste.
Could there be more of a chance if the musical is successful? Just a (wishful) thought.
Even if there never is a sequel for 9 to 5 (Lord knows I wish there would be!), I still would adore seeing you, Lily, and Dolly working together again. The three of you are a perfect match and you all complement each other based on your individual talents.
I’d also just generally love to see you in more films. Lily, too. It’s bothersome that there isn’t very much work for women of a certain age in Hollywood. Screw the 20-somethings, my favorite films have actresses over the age of 40.
Dearest Jane,
One day, when I’ve got the money I’ll fund it myself. xx
If Fox doesn’t seem interested in a theatrical sequel to “9 to 5″ maybe they would do a television movie sequel? “These Old Broads” written by Carrie Fisher was going to be theatrical and then it was made into a television movie. Just a thought. Best wishes for everything.
Here’s an idea. Perhaps you, Lily, and Dolly could star together in another movie about un-fairness, inequality, and other injustices in the workplace, but not necessarily a Nine to Five sequel. If none of the major studios are interested in the project, I think a low-budget independent film would be just as good. And by avoiding ties to the title “Nine to Five” or to any of the characters, fictional places, or fictional organizations in the movie, I would think you could avoid any copyright or trademark issues that might be involved with a Nine to Five sequel.
She is still a traitor as far as im concerned
I am bummed that fox has turned it down…..
Face it……you are still living in a pink collared ghetto!
I say pull out the skinny and sweet and serve them some coffee
Why is it that these executive types always think they know it all. They get new starlets every week and have no loyalty. They keep putting out junk or one hit wonders.
I love 9 to 5. A sequel would be great and could have a little bit of a twist thrown in on technology and the ridiculousness of too many useless meetings and reports. I am just saying, that is what use to drive me crazy about my old 9 to 5. Could also be include a good mix of actors like they did in the movie Mad Money with Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, Ted Danson and Katie Holmes. Maybe a group of actors like Ellen Page, Cameron Diaz, Zoe Saldana, Wanda Sykes and Gene Hackman could be the boss).
Anyway, you all could be the owners of the company you use to work for and make cameos through out the picture. Not sure what mix of ladies would have the same type of amazing chemistry and comedic timing as you all did but it would be great to see you all back together in these roles that everyone loves so much.
Keep me posted!
Candace
