    After all these years of writing to you and being so fond of you I watched a documentary about 50 years of the Beatles tonight on the German/French tv channel Arte and realised we have 6 degrees of separation (or Kevin Bacon!). I am very good friends with a guy who was married to Astrid Kirchherr (see wikipedia!) who was together with the 6th Beatle, Stuart Sutcliffe, and who I know very well too! We all live in Hamburg, Germany. Well tonight the documentary interviewed them here together with their very good friend Klaus Voormann. The documentary showed that Klaus Voormann not only worked a lot with the Beatles but with a guy called Richard Perry. Ring a bell?? I couldn’t believe it. After a really bad day of being down in the dumps, something like this comes along and makes my day. Now I can die happy. (I’ll be 43 next week, so not dying soon, but when it comes I’ll be happy because of the six degrees (well, I think it’s five) of separation from you.!

  4. Just saw the complaint regarding QVC cancelling your appearance. I was of draft age when you Jane were burning draft cards and appearing in the film Barberella in which you were wearing controversial costumes. You enjoyed raising ire in the american public in several areas at that time of history. If a person wants to be out there in the public eye the way that you were then youy need to be prepared to reap the consequences no matter when those consequences come in life. It’a always amazing to me that the public give you people any creadence at all regarding anything. It’s like Marlan Brondo once said, “why should anyone care what I have to say” he was just an actor. You are just the same and some people would argue that!

    I heard you signed on to do an ABC comedy (ABC and NBC do great comedies, CBS has terrible ones). 🙂 I already envisioned you winning another Emmy. 🙂 😀 I hope it’s gonna be released this season. It sure sounds interesting and you’re fantastic at comedy (as well), I can’t wait. It would be so nice to see a comedy performance like you gave in the sixties or in Fun with Dick and Jane – giggling, clumsy, innocent, adorable. 🙂 I so love that. I love a Monster-In-Law character as well, but I think you’re the best at subtle, charming comedy. 🙂

    But what I REALLY WANTED TO TELL YOU is basically thank you. I’ve always had a few ups and downs in my mood and I secretly always knew I needed help, but the need for seeming perfect and alright prevented me from asking for it. I took the courage to open up to my family and friends about it from reading your book and your own stories about you secret illness. Really, if it wasn’t for the courage I got from you, I’d probably still be suffering alone without help. Thanks to you, I can see that it’s better to be open about your struggles. In the end, doctors told me I’m probably bipolar and they say that at this stage I may even have a chance of beating it, but at least I can get back on the right track.

    I always declare my adoration towards you in my comments, but now I want you to really know I mean it. I’m eternally grateful, God bless you, Jane. 🙂

  6. What fun it was to see you as Contessa Frederique de Metzengerstein in “Spirits of the Dead” on TCM, earlier tonight. The movie had a definite 1960s, experimental, French-feel to it. The costumes alone were fabulous. What struck me the most, however, was how underneath all the trappings of your captivating beauty there was a quality to your acting still evident. Thanks for all you are and all you do, Ms. Fonda!

Dear Jane,I got your message,and now I know where and when you will be in Rio!Yesterday,I went to the same Bookstore you will be,for the launch of the book “The girl from Ipanema”,from the “girl itself”,who inspired the famous song, Mrs.Heloisa Pinheiro who,50 years ago,then a teenager,catch the attention of one of the best composer of the world,Mr.Tom Jobin,and songwriter then also a Ambassador, Mr.Vinicius de Morais,to write the lyrics of one of the most beautifull song,to date!And the second most played all over the world!Known as Helô (pronounce Hello)she is still a very pretty woman,a Celebrity in her own right and a TV Personality,the Hostess of a Talk Show about “aging gracefully and healthy”,just like you!As we met,I told her abou your next trip to São Paulo -where she lives and works – and she told me she would love to meet you,and asked me to tell you that,and that she is going to find out a way to have a meeting with you too!Could you maybe talk with your Tour Manager to arrange that meeting in São Paulo,where she lives and works?If you think that it is possible, she authorize me to give you her phone number: 011-93022454011-998010205.
